I wish it would rain

Image
It's a Monday, I am off of work today, and it is raining out, hard. Now these are one of those special days where I got no plans going on, my options are endless, and I can be productive, or do nothing at all, who knows. But here are my top lists of things I would most likely do, or if not, just thinking about doing it is good enough.  Read a Book Now this is not the first thing on my list, and this is something that I may never do, but reading would be a cool thing to do on a rainy day, right? Now I know I have heard so many people say, "Oh I would love to be cuddled up in bed with a good book." I have never said that, but maybe one day I will be saying that. I am more of a realistic fiction book fan, but any book goes when it is raining out and there is nothing for you to do or go outside.  Work Out I personally think this is a crazy thing to do, but you can do a nice little workout in the garage or living room, knowing you cannot go outside to work out and do not wan...

Wake up before September ends!

Image
You have 3 days left of September, then we move onto the fall season. Yes, I count all of September still part of the summer season. So yes, enjoy the end of summer as much as you can! Looking through, the weather is still warm, the hoodie season is not here yet, I guess that means it's still muscle shirt and shorts season for these few days left. Here are the things you should do before the time ticks out and it will finally be fall season.  Go to the beach, because, why not? That place is incredible to go hangout and play. Hangout with family, a loved one, a close friend. Go boogie board, who cares, nobody is too old to boogie board, it is an ageless activity. You can read a book on the beach as well, maybe even a book about what to do in the fall. Some areas around the country still got 80 degrees day around, so when you get the chance, for the last time before you will be cold for the next 8 months (thank goodness) go out and catch some rays.  Ride a bike around the...

Detroit Lions Pregame Expectations

Image
Detroit Lions vs Cleveland Browns at Detroit, it should be a great game, but I am thinking it will be a lot closer than expected. The Lions played an impressive game against the Ravens, this would be a heart breaker to lose a game that everyone in Detroit is so confident about. There are a couple of things I am very curious what questions will be answered for the game.  Will they be able to stop this man? Myles Garrett, one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the NFL the last couple of years. This man could make a difference in the whole game. The pass rush, the run stops, the pressure given to everyone, I am very curious if the Detroit Lions, who are very good this year, be able to still run and pass easily like they have been able to do the last couple of weeks. Will David Montgomery start to get as many reps than he did last week? He did an incredible job against the Ravens having over 130 yards rushing and I am curious if he will be having as many rushes and if he ...

Chili's... put some respect on their name

Image
I have been a loyal fan before it became popular on social media, I have been going there since the early age, I have been requesting Chili's to be my "Family Birthday Dinner Meal". This place has grown much popularity, but this place has been the GO-TO PLACE from day 1. It is not just one meal that is good, it is not just a couple small things, IT IS EVERYTHING! If you go to Chili's and you did not order the bottomless chips and salsa... you did not actually go to Chili's. I have never, and I repeat, never have gone to Chili's without getting the chips and salsa. It is a perfect little starter for when coming it. Talking to everyone, sharing some chips, and if you finish all of them very quickly... you can ask for more! FOR FREE I am 10 toes down when I say this...Chili's bone in and boneless wings can compete against any restaurant wings. It can even go against places that are only known for their wings, Chili's are right up with them. They have a ...

Stress Free Weekend as a Michigan Wolverine Fan

Image
There's a good and bad thing about this weekend... unfortunately we are not able to watch the Michigan Wolverines compete to play this weekend, but also... The Michigan Wolverines get an extra week of rest and preparation for future weeks while not being able to lose no matter what. The Wolverines came out of last week against Nebraska looking amazing with the run game working, the defensive pass rush being unstoppable, and the ability to show the country that Bryce Underwood will be able to handle himself in touch away game settings. As a fan wise, this just gives us more time to say how amazing the previous week went and start talking about the possibilities and what needs to happen for them to get into the playoffs. Obviously, there is one word that would guarantee them into the college football playoffs and that is... WIN.  Now while all of us, Michigan Wolverine fans will not be able to watch the team we enjoy getting to watch, we get the opportunity to watch all the ot...

Ryder's Cup for Beginners

Image
I am ashamed to say, but I became a late in my life fan of golf. I was never good at golf, I never cared too much about it, and all I knew about it was the big day was Sunday and usually I take a nap during that time. But within the last few years and a little extra help from Happy Gilmore 2, I became a fan and interested to learn more about it. They always talk about how this is a massive individual sport and how it can never be too loud at the course. But then I learned more about this Ryder cup, and this event is ELECTRIC! The Ryder's Cup was founded in 1927, and one team is Team USA and the other is Team Europe. They have a captain and then they have a draft for their players to see which players were picked to be in this golf team competition. As of now, USA is leading the series 27-14. The event happens every 2 years and Europe has won the last 2 competitions, so The United States have not had the taste of glory since 2016, the year Lebron James came back to a 3-1 series ag...

Olive Garden... put some respect on their name

Image
Your 11th birthday is up... where do you want to go with your family? Olive Garden. You win your first big time travel baseball game, where do you want to celebrate? Olive Garden. You got an A on your science test for the first time ever, where do you want to celebrate? Olive Garden. It is incredible that this restaurant was a key celebration for my family, and it hit, EVERY TIME.  To start off... the "starters" could be something I could eat, and be the only thing I eat the entire time there. The salad is amazing, the dressing, the lettuce, the croutons, the onions, the tomatoes, it is all amazing, and yes... "I would appreciate another bowl of salad for the table." Then the bread comes down... This is where I attempt to beat my record every single time, and my record is 12, good luck beating that. I can use the bread with the salad, the main dish I get, or just take a bunch to take home, no matter what they are a HUGE hit. I will be honest, I have never had the ...

What's next for Oklahoma State?

Image
When I think of Oklahoma State Football...I think of Mike Gundy... When I think of Mike Gundy, I think of this one moment and this one moment only. "I'm a man! I'm 40!" This man has been coaching Oklahoma State for 21 years.  He has: 170 wins and 90 losses 18 Bowl Appearances- 12 wins, 6 losses 3x Big 12 coach of the year 1x Big 12 title winner Oklahoma State Football most winningness coach At one point, 1 yard away from making it to the college football playoffs. Now here is the next question that is given to Oklahoma State... who is the next head coach? My answer is... I have no idea. I think they need to find a coach that can get the players wanting to play but also to get someone that can market the team. This college football generation is different than the previous one, just telling them they can get you into the NFL is not enough anymore, they want to be getting paid 6 to 7 figures to play in college and unfortunately, not all of the teams have the money for...

Sheetz... put some respect on their name

Image
As a young boy living in Connecticut, gas stations were for... gas, bathroom break, gummy bears, and a soda. After that, you pay for your stuff, get what you needed, and get back to your car and keep on with your car rides. But when on a road trip, we stopped at a gas station we have not heard of before, and it was shocking to see what was there to try. I've seen this place, "Sheetz" that I now know are only in 5 states, mostly in North Carolina and Ohio, then some in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. And what I will say... this place is more than just gummy bears and a diet coke.  As you walk in and go to the food section, they have pre made food to eat, or you can order food. On a Tuesday morning, instead of going to a sit down diner, or a fast food place, I actually got my sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit at a gas station... and it was GOOD. The cheese was melted, the biscuit held its own, the eggs were cooked, and the sausage had some flavoring to it, it was...

Running all over the Ravens

Image
Last week, I was pleased that the Lions beat the bears because the next week playing against the Ravens at Baltimore, we would only be 1-2 and not 0-3 during Monday Night Football. After the Packers game, I did not know what to believe, the offensive red zone was not impressive, not a defensive pass rush, run game was not there, but all that changed after Monday Nights game. The Lion's offense ran for over 250 yards total, 7 sacks, and were 5-5 in the redzone. It was everything we needed to show that the Lions are the real deal and can win a tough away game with special players on the other team.  Watching the first 2 games, I was very confused why David Montgomery was not getting the reps he deserved. Last year he was the first down guy who got the carries and he usually got at least 3 yards to start off the drive which is also huge to start on offense. So far this season, they used Gibbs for most plays in all of the possessions to start the games. Against the Ravens, they ...

King Henry Unreal Numbers

Image
Detroit Lions against the Baltimore Ravens tonight, I am very worried. They have an incredible running back, they have a tough defense, they make the big play when needed, and then they have this running back... King Henry. Now when you watch him in the NFL running over professional players that their job is to stop him from running forward, you think to yourself, "He must have been an absolute force in college." Then you see in college he won the Heisman and was averaging 147 yards a game in the SEC, then you think to yourself one more time, "He must have been even better in high school." Then you look at these stats... The top picture shows his high school stats for his 4 years in high school. Obviously, you can read and look at the stats but let's really break this down. First off... in most states, if you had stats that Derrick Henry had his freshman year, 2,465 yards, averaging 224 yards a game, 26 touchdowns, and averaging 7.9 yards a carry, you would be...

Too hot for fall?

Image
As I sit here... inside... with the AC on... and the fan on... I think to myself, "Why in the world is it this hot out in the end of September?" I have spent the 3 BRUTAL months, sweating through my t shirts, making sure I have extra cold water at all times, and an extra t shirt just in case the first one gets too wet, just for me to experience this again in the end of September. The only thing that is, "Spooky Season" is the heat hurting my health. I want my darn hoodie on with a firepit going on, and I cannot experience that right now.  WHO WAS GOING TO TELL ME THAT IT IS GOING TO BE THE HIGH 80S TO LOW 90S THIS ENTIRE UPCOMING WEEK? Should I have my own personal fan on? Should I never go outside again? This is absolutely insane!  Michael Myers would have never done the things he did in Illinois on Halloween night if the heat is the way it is now. He would be sweating the entire time walking around trying to find people, he would have given up and take a break s...

The real marketing genius

Image
I will admit it... I am not a full time Swiftie... I used to low the old time, mid 2000's Taylor Swift. Listening to "You Belong With Me", "Love Story", and "Our Song" all day, everyday, listening to them before big time basketball games, and making sure it was on full blast on the computer while doing my homework. Throughout the years, I have not been a full time listener like I used to, still listening to songs, and always being impressed, but not becoming a Day 1 fan anymore.  Throughout the years I have seen on social media and also even know people that have basically taken every dollar they have in their bank account just to buy a ticket to a concert. I have seen people drive a couple hours for a concert, phone across country for a concert, and even had someone who flew to a different country to make sure they made it to the concert. It is absolutely incredible... and the best part is, I have never heard of a unimpressed fan at a concert, they ...

Ready for the show now...

Image
In Nebraska... we go to your house, in front of all of your fans, and run the ball down your mouths and win the football game. Oh, my goodness, it is great to be a Michigan Wolverine...fan. As I am watching, Michigan looked like a completely different team than they were against Oklahoma a couple weeks ago. Against Oklahoma they could not stop the run, they couldn't make the big play when needed, and they couldn't use the QB when they needed the first down, against Nebraska, they answered all of the questions.  When Nebraska is driving down the field with ease, I say to myself, "This is going to be another one of those games where Michigan gets destroyed on the line of scrimmage and cannot make a stop when they need to." That is exactly when they started off with the big time stop on 4th and 2 to get the ball back in our own goal line. That is when Michigan's team started growing up a bit and able to play the big games when needed.  After Michigan lost the game ...

What a week to be a college football fan

Image
If you have a wedding you were invited to... say you're busy. Week 4 is one of the best that they have for the year with multiple ranked games all throughout the day. Week 1 had a lot of hype but unfortunately did not show out with the performance of the game, hopefully this week will be different from that. Here are the top 5 games for the week. Michigan at Nebraska Michigan playing at Nebraska is a huge matchup within the Big 10, but not the biggest for this weekend. You got Bryce Underwood getting to play his second game with being able to use all of his abilities against a 2nd year veteran Raiola who has been able to score more than 50 points, 2 out of 3 games so far this season. A key point will be who will be able to win the line of scrimmage, Michigan has been very run oriented throughout this season so far and the only time they needed to have a pass game, the lost to Oklahoma. This could also be a massive break out game for Nebraska and could even get them to become rank...
