What's next for Oklahoma State?
When I think of Oklahoma State Football...I think of Mike Gundy... When I think of Mike Gundy, I think of this one moment and this one moment only. "I'm a man! I'm 40!" This man has been coaching Oklahoma State for 21 years.
He has:
170 wins and 90 losses
18 Bowl Appearances- 12 wins, 6 losses
3x Big 12 coach of the year
1x Big 12 title winner
Oklahoma State Football most winningness coach
At one point, 1 yard away from making it to the college football playoffs.
Now here is the next question that is given to Oklahoma State... who is the next head coach? My answer is... I have no idea. I think they need to find a coach that can get the players wanting to play but also to get someone that can market the team. This college football generation is different than the previous one, just telling them they can get you into the NFL is not enough anymore, they want to be getting paid 6 to 7 figures to play in college and unfortunately, not all of the teams have the money for that. At one point, Oklahoma State used to have a very dominant program, who were ranked consistently throughout the year, having big time named players like Mason Rudolph, James Washington, Justin Blackmon, and more. I would love to see who they have next, but I do not know if this program will turn around anytime soon unfortunately.
