Can Michigan Get Back to the Top?

We have made it, we can look outside and say to ourselves, it is August…This is the month of when the great sport of Football comes back. High School Football, College Football, NFL, it will be 4 months of football on Weekdays and Weekends, it is absolutely beautiful. Michigan Wolverines is starting the 2026 season with the Coaches Pre-Season Poll at #16 which is understandable going 9-4 losing to Oklahoma, USC, Ohio State, and Texas. Not the perfect year to be a Michigan Wolverine fan, but there is a light of brightness coming to the end of the tunnel.

This off season was not the best situation, our head coach had "Stuff" happen, which had us lose the head coach, some key players transferred out of Michigan like Justice Haynes, but we also gained a lot of key people to help this program to get back on top.

Michigan went out and looked for a "Winning" coach, and that guy is Kyle Whittingham. He was with Utah for the last 21 seasons with a career record of 177-88. He has had off and on seasons as the head coach, but through the years, he has proved that he can win the big games when needed.

Michigan's brightest light is how the key players are returning on offense and defense. More of the key players returning on offense and not defense. Bryce Underwood, Jordan Marshall, and Andrew Marsh can make this offense be the powerhouse that wee needed. Andrew Marsh had a great second half of the season turning into the WR1 after his Freshman Year, Jordan Marshall can now be the main heart beat at RB and has the chance to be top 10 RBs in college football for this 2026 year, and Bryce Underwood can be the talk around the country.

My jaw dropped after hearing that Bryce Underwood did not have full quarterback practice throughout the 2025 season, which means that there was a Freshman QB with the world in his hands, and he was not giving the opportunity to grow through the season. The 2025 season for Bryce Underwood counts as a success in my book. He played all of the big games, got to experience the top teams in the country, he now has the experience to be top 5 quarterbacks in the country.

Michigan has still a young team, but after the year of experience, this team can make some noise in the Big 10 and the College Football Playoffs.
