Detroit Lions - Believe or Dont!

This is my first blog about the Detroit Lions for the year. It stung very hard with the Detroit Lions losing to the Washington Commanders home in the first round of the playoffs. To be a Lions fan, I have never been more confident in a football team. We kept winning primetime games and coming back when we were losing later in the game... the Detroit Lions never get to do that. So right when the confidence was at the highest it possibly could, it went crumbling down and the Lions fell off the playoffs early that year. But you know what... this is a knew year, and after week 1, I heard many people saying they do not believe in them this year, and with that I say... Stay on the ship or do not think about coming back.

The season was amazing last year, I agree, they did everything besides win the Superbowl. New year, same energy... so we thought. Week 1 in Green Bay is a scary one to start. Especially when they have just received Micah Parsons as a pass rushing threat to add on for their team that the Lions could not handle. It was a tough watch, especially with the Detroit Lions starters really did not get to have much time in the preseason. The offense was able to drive down the ball, but they never got to finish in the endzone which made it look worse than it actually was. I was curious about the offensive coordinator when using Gibbs for rushes so much early in the drive when last year it was more Montgomery to be used in first down rushes. I was worried, Detroit Lion Fans were worried, the City of Detroit was worried... All to wait and see how the next week goes... against the Chicago Bears.

Week 2 hits... 0-1... against a scary team that we do not know what to expect. That is something Detroit Lions are used to, and we cannot start the season 0-2. This game was not like most games; this one is against our previous Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson who is the mastermind of the NFL offense. Also being concerned about the Detroit Lions offense knowing how litter there was of it last week, I really did not know what to expect. The team immediately shut me and other fans that thought the same up very easily winning that game and also scoring over 50 points! Multiple receivers scoring a touchdown, both running backs scoring a touchdown, the defense was getting turnovers, the Lions were going on 4th down, the Lions were back! It was amazing seeing that they are back to their old ways and able to do what they do best, play gritty and aggressive at all times. 1-1 sounds so much better than 0-2.

On to the next one, and this one is another tough game to have. Lions playing against the Ravens at Baltimore. The last time we played there I was so mad about the loss that I turned the TV off mid-way through the second quarter. They have a win so far this season, so I am happy with it, but I believe this Detroit Lions team does not give up, and if you do not believe in them now, think of the 2008 year when they went winless the whole year. If you told me the new regular Detroit Lions is fighting for the playoffs, then it is a good time to be a Detroit sports fan.
