The Future For Uconn Basketball

When you hear the term, "Blue Bloods". It is defined as, "The most prestigious and successful programs in men's college basketball history." Which discusses the teams UNC, Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky. I think this term has always been lame with it not really make any sense, and that those 4 teams have not been as dominant as they think they are. Yes, I understand they have won 9 of the final 24 national championships since 2000. But if you just asked for Uconn and Villanova alone... it would be 7 of the final 24. So the real question is, which team would Uconn take over as a blue blood?

I lived in Connecticut for most of my life, and I have experienced all of it throughout the years. I have experienced AJ Price bringing his team to the final 4, being average in the AAC, and now being dominant back to the Big East. There was a team 2 years ago when I, Uconn fan, thought to myself, "Is this Dan Hurley guy legit coach that can win this team some games?" As I see #5 seed Uconn lose to #12 seed New Mexico state in the first round of the tournament in 2022. But I was wrong... so very very wrong. Since that game... they have not lose in a march madness game in the last 2 years and have beaten every team by more than 10 points. Some key players are leaving the team this year, but that is the same exact situation of Uconn the year before. With Dan Hurley's incredible recruiting abilities and his game tremendous transfers abilities, they could go and get a 3 peat.

The real question now is... which team would they take over for? Unfortunately, I think the answer would have to go Kentucky. North Carolina has been crushing it with some returners this previous season and the top recruits coming this upcoming year. Duke has one of the best recruiting classes coming in that we have not seen since Zion's group with some key players returning. And Kansas I feel as long as they have Bill Self as their head coach, they will be successful no matter what happens. Kentucky has just lost Calipari and with that, you will be losing top recruits. I think they will be struggling the next couple of years and do not think they can be successful in the SEC or college basketball in total. So take them out of the blue bloods and put in Uconn.
