Pro Bowl Ideas

The Pro Bowls used to be the so fun to watch! The best against the best, competitive players get to go 1 on 1 just like the good ole backyard football days. The Sean Taylor hit on the fake punt, Randy Moss catching deep balls, defenses actually hitting the receivers, the lineman actually blocking and shedding blocks. And within the last couple of years, the only thing exciting about the game is to bet the over because every other play is a touchdown. The refs call the ball carriers down just by a 2 hand touch which is even less than flag football. There has to be another way to do this to make it fun for the fans, and for the best of the best players to show their full abilities. Here is a list I thought of:

1.) Each point goes to donations to charity: Each team should get specific points or plays that can get their teams money for a charity of their choice. It would get both the offenses and defenses to play for a reason and would have them not giving half effort on offense or defense. I know winning is not the most important during the pro bowl, but there will be some prize to get!

2.) Just make them play a different sport: The confidence on some of these athletes saying they can play other sports, lets just have them do it. I know a lot of these NFL stars have said they are very good at basketball. Let's make it fun and have the players play some pickup basketball, you know they will give their full effort and would be great to watch. I keep seeing these players play pickup basketball at the local gym and make these amazing cross-overs and 3's... Let's see how they can do it on the big stage.

3.) Lineman and Specialist Switch: This would be my personal favorite... Imagine you are hanging out on a Sunday afternoon and you are there watching the lineman play all of the specialist positions of quarterback, running back, and receivers, while those position players have to go and play lineman. I think this would be ELECTRIC. Imagine seeing Jason Kelce having to catch a fade pass in the corner of the endzone? You would finally be able to see these lineman show their true athleticism.

Maybe the ideas stink, and I understand that. But, I think they have to do something different because the viewership is down, and these players are too good for it to be boring to watch. GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT!!!!
