Horns Down

Can't we all just have some fun and give a little banter? Since the beginning of time, fans and players and staff talk trash to other teams talking about who's team is better. There's logos, there's phrases, there's trophies, but why when it comes to Texas, it has to be stopped? Texas University has been a powerhouse in college sports for a very long time and in the year 1955, the head cheerleader Harley Clark created the "Hook 'em Horns" sign. Since then, all of the Texas greats have been doing the sign to this day.. Kevin Durant, Colt Mccoy, Matthew McConaughey, all of the greats. 8 years later in 1963, a Baylor student started doing the "Horns Down" while watching the game to piss off Texas. So that means, for 61 YEARS, this has been happening. Horns down was invented the same year the Beach Boys had the song, "Surfin' U.S.A" as a number 1 song. So if it has been happening for so long, why are the people of Texas University still so upset about it? Yes, I understand it has been getting more and more popular lately, but they can't get over it? On January 18th of this year Texas blew a 17 point lead to UCF in basketball and when the clock went out, the players were walking around the court with the "Horns Down" symbol to the fans. Texas coach talking to the UCF players saying it was, "classless". There was even a time where BYU fans had T shirts with it saying horns down and had to take it off before the game. What the hell is going on.... This is the thing they are trying to stop? But there's one group of people that do not care what people think and give the people what they want... and that is Barstool Sports. Barstool TCU is donating the TCU student section 500 horns down t shirts to wear for their game Saturday. THIS IS WHAT MAKES SPORTS GREAT. TCU is -4.5 against Texas and with those t-shirts... I am expecting and absolute blowout.
