Is This The End of Storming The Court?

One of the coolest things with college sports, is how unexpected the outcome of the games can be. Top seed vs top seed, bad team vs bad team, good team vs bad team, all kinds of games happen all of the time. There are times though when the college basketball fans get lucky when a top ranked team plays an away game against a sold out mediocre team where all the fans are hoping for their team to make the upset. Most times when that upset happens, the home fans get so excited that they all run onto the court and every can celebrate together, even including the players. There has been good, bad, and straight up ugly with storming the court/field, but sometimes that is what makes college sports great.

Storming the field, also known as "Pitch Invasion" (I just found out that was the actual term of it) is not just for college sports, it happens in all sports that are all around the world. It has happened during baseball, basketball, soccer, rugby... literally anything. Throughout the years it has been slowed down in professional sports and there are times now when fans get arrested for doing it, or teams/Universities will get fined for having fans storm the court after the game is over. Yes, there are times where all the fans are all happy, both teams get to safely get back to their locker rooms, and it all ends very well. But unfortunately, there has been times where things have been stolen, people have gotten injured, and fights have been started... Here are a couple of the worst ones that have happened throughout just this year...

Just recently this year there has been an incident where Caitlin Clark and Iowa got upsetted in their game, and a fan ran onto the court to celebrate and ran into her by accident. They both collided into each other and luckily, she was not injured.

I understand that this situation nobody gets injured, but I think it is unfair that these fans can say or do whatever they want and the players cannot do anything about it or they will be the one that has their career being affected. This situation where Caleb Williams lost their game to Notre Dame and a fan ran up to him to film him and talk trash as he sadly walks back to the locker room.

And now we have this one that just happened today where #8 Duke got upsetted by an unranked Wake Forest. While Duke starting center Filipowski was about to walk off the court, a Wake Forest fan ran into him (if not attempted to hit him) as he was storming on the court and now Filipowski began to limp off the court. Nobody knows as of now how severe the injury is, but the question is, what if this is a season ending injury? What will happen next, what if there are more injuries?

Just from this year alone, there has been multiple problems happening with storming of the court/fields and the big question is, will they not allow storming of the court anymore? This injury with the Duke player hopefully started opening the eyes of the NCAA and they can ban it permanently because things like this has to be stopped. I understand, I sound lame for wanted to stop this, but it happens so consistently now that it isn't really cool anymore. I am sorry, but you be the judge of this, do you think they should keep allowing this or just ban it forever?
