Day 1 of Lions Offseason... is this our year actually?

Alright, I'll admit it. This year was one of the greatest years to be a Detroit Lions fan. There were multiple times I whispered to myself as Jared Goff takes a knee to end the game, "We don't usually win these games... we blow it everytime." It almost felt like we were in charge of bully ball and I feel like we never get to experience that feeling. The problem that we have now is... was this the best we could ever do? A surprise playoff run one year and then a #1 seed but get upsetted in the playoffs the next? Here are the major concerns I have about next year...

1.) John Morton

We were blessed with one of the most incredible minds in football history... Ben Johnson, thank you for your service. He had some of the craziest plays, trick plays here, trick plays, there, the first ever fake fumble play action pass. I do not think that will ever happen again with the excitement for a deep touchdown at least once a game. But if the Lions keep this offensive team, fans chanting "Jared Goff", the gritty offensive line, Sonic and Knuckles, the hungry receiving core, then they can keep this ball rolling for the upcoming year.

2.) Injuries?

This may have been one of the more wild years with injuries for the Detroit Lions. My only concern about it is if it can happen once, it can happen again. And if that happens, we may be losing our prime years and that will be the worst "what if" we can experience as a fan. Knowing how Campbell is the way he is... the Lions always were ready for the next one up, and that is why I am loving this Detroit Lions team.

3.) Egos?

This is one of the first times where the Detroit Lions have players that are the best in their position. And with that, are other teams trying to get them? No matter how much these Detroit Lions players love Detroit, which I absolutely love to see... MONEY TALKS! And if money talks enough, I am worried some players will be grabbing their bags and going to be the #1 player for another team.

Personally, I really think the Lions have this gap of years where this group of players can make it big and really be the first team to win the Super Bowl for this city. Just waiting to see if anything happens this off season and how this upcoming draft goes.... to be continued.
